Christmas pictures 1999
(posted December 24, 1999)

Dear Family,
We love you and wish you a Merry Christmas!

Our advent candles. We lit the last candle today (Dec 24) since we
are invited out on Christmas day.

No turkey or ham for Christmas but last Saturday we made our first fondue.
Making fondue is traditionally a man's job, maybe like BBQ's in USA?
Actually Christmas day we are invited to a family's home for dinner,
I'm sure we will have something delicious there.

We didn't get a Christmas tree this year, but there are plenty of decorations around town.
We are content with a small mistletoe branch for our apartment decorations.

As you can see Santa is here too! But here they also talk about St. Nicholas who comes down from the mountains to put candy or sticks in children's shoes.

15 days before the year 2000. (Dec 17) People here don't talk much about Y2K problems.
Its more a reason to party than to worry.
