Montreux on Lac Lemán

Posted Feb 2, 1999

These pictures were taken on a day outing Saturday January 30. Our neighbors, Andy and Marion Huttner, drove us about 75 minutes south of Neuchatel, to the town of Montreux. While there we did some hiking and visited a castle. It was a great break from our French studies.

That's Lake Geniva
(Lac Leman) with the
Alps of France in the background.
The right (West) end of the lake is towards Geniva.
It was a beautiful clear
day, but very cold...
...almost cold enough to make you see strange things!
  Some of the Swiss
architecture
Chateau de Chillon:
We visited this castle
built on a small rock
island right next to the lake.
  Just inside the
courtyard
of the castle.
(have you seen that building before?)
The gallows of the castle.   The king's table.
